Shape Tool & Node Manipulation in CorelDRAW

Shape Tool and Nodes in CorelDRAW tutorial talks about the Shape tool and how it is used to alter shapes to get the desired object. It also talks in detail about nodes. How they can be manipulated to assist the shape tool in making the desired shape changes.

When you draw a curve object of any shape, you create nodes on this object. These nodes are little blue-outlined squares that appear when you select a curve object, using Shape tool. The line between two nodes is called a segment. Segments can be straight, or curved. Nodes have control handles. Using the Shape tool, these curve handles can be used to alter the curve of a segment. We learn that curve objects created in CorelDRAW follow a path. This path defines an object.

Shape Tool and Nodes in CorelDRAW tutorial teaches us that drawings made by using the Drawing tools, and spirals, are curve objects. Most other objects that you add to a drawing will not be curve objects. But these can be changed into curve objects. The tutorial shows us how to do that. We also learn that in order to alter the shape of an object, it needs to be a curve object. The same rules apply to text that is created using the Text tool. Text, by default is not a curve object. But it can be converted into a curve object. After that, using the Shape tool, you can manipulate the nodes and alter the shape to the text.

You will learn how to align nodes with each other, convert then to cusp, smooth or symmetrical nodes. It shows us how to reflect nodes horizontally, and vertically, and convert them into elastic mode so they move in opposite direction to each other.
